Week 24 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Buys

Week 24 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Buys

Big NBA Wednesday hath returned for another week, signaling the final countdown until the 2014-15 Fantasy Basketball season officially comes to an end. We’ll still get our daily fantasy fix during the playoffs, but these jam-packed Wednesdays are slowly going away. Join us as the clock ticks, as we break down some more value plays to help us all win thousands. Just remember to pair some of these cheapies with some studs, of course.

As always, we’ll use the salaries over at Draft Kings as a guiding light and to be sure we’re getting the most bang for our buck, we’ll keep the pricing threshold below $6k. Let’s get to it:

Zach Lavine, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($5.9k)

Lavine continues to see huge minutes due to the death of Ricky Rubio, so as long as Rubes is out he’s going to keep starting and having upside on a nightly basis. The upside accompanies his still solid price, which suggests 30+ fantasy points on a regular basis. He actually crushed last time out (46.75 fantasy points) and should have a chance to do so again tonight.

Isaiah Thomas, PG, Boston Celtics ($5.7k)

IT2 doesn’t get insane run and he really only scores and hands out dimes, but when he’s on he’s fun to use in daily fantasy basketball. He sure is on right now, as he’s dropped in 28+ fantasy points in four of his last six contests. His role off the bench is to score, so as long as he has the green light as is this cheap, you shouldn’t feel bashful about using him.

Ray McCallum, PG, Sacramento Kings ($4.8k)

Mac is another cheap guy who has the green light to score, and his minutes and production are starting to churn out at a very consistent rate. Injuries to some of Sacramento’s key players only help, giving McCallum more shots and in turn more control of the team’s offense. He hasn’t disappointed with the extra responsibilities, either, as he’s put up at least 26 fantasy point efforts in four straight games.

Bradley Beal, SG, Washington Wizards ($6k)

Beal can definitely be shaky at times but it looks like he’s in a groove, plus he has an A+ matchup tonight. With 29+ fantasy points in five of his last six contests, Beal is gaining trust. He can stroke it from outside and as long as he’s adding solid assist and rebound numbers, he’s a guy you have to try out.

Joe Johnson, SG, Brooklyn Nets ($5.9k)

After four excellent outings in a row, Iso Joe has begun to run cold with three duds in a row. He could get back on track in a revenge game against his former team, the Atlanta Hawks. Johnson can do a lot of different things when his head is in the game, and after the Nets got destroyed by the Hawks just a few days ago, they should be much more focused in their next meeting at home.

O.J. Mayo, SG, Milwaukee Bucks ($3.6k)

Mayo depends a lot on non-guaranteed minutes and he’s mostly a scorer off Milwaukee’s bench, making him unpredictable and understandably difficult to trust. That being said, he can explode for huge games and is probably the best pure value based on price tonight.

Wilson Chandler, SF, Denver Nuggets ($5.8k)

Willie Chan can be hit or miss depending on the matchup, but tonight he has a great matchup on paper and is also a fantastic price. Small Forward can be a death trap at times due to pricing and value, but Chandler could rescue you from it’s grasp tonight.

Paul George, SF, Indiana Pacers ($5k)

It’s worth wondering if George is ready to consistently even be a good value play, but his current price is a flat out steal if he even comes close to 20 minutes in his second game back from a horrific leg injury. He’s not close to himself yet, but 22 fantasy points in just 15 minutes in his debut is beyond encouraging. Due to his versatile skill-set, he’s not the worst risk tonight if he suits up.

Omri Casspi, SF, Sacramento Kings ($4.5k)

Casspi went nuts with 31 points scored last night and could be in for his fourth straight game of 30+ minutes. Injuries have helped his role and production a ton, and while he’s still not the most consistent performer, he’ll at least have a great shot at crushing his value tonight.

Rodney Hood, SF, Utah Jazz ($4.4k)

Hood has dropped in 28 and 40 point fantasy outings in his last two games, so he needs to be on your radar when you look for value plays tonight. His value hinges to who is or isn’t going to be suiting up on the night, while he’s a rookie who could easily fall flat. The upside and value are there, though.

Markieff Morris, PF, Phoenix Suns ($6k)

Kieff can disappoint from time to time but he’s mostly been reliable this year. He’s an adept scorer with a nice inside/outside game and he can even help with rebounds. He has a nice up tempo matchup tonight and the price is fantastic, so don’t be shy about deploying him.

Thaddeus Young, PF, Brooklyn Nets ($5.9k)

Thad has been pretty rock solid as a starter in Brooklyn, as he’s getting awesome run and helping out in several categories when the Nets aren’t getting trounced. When they’re winning, he’s a terrific option and always has a chance to crush his value. Tonight he’s a little risky going up against a superior Hawks squad, but the value is still there.

Dirk Nowitzki, PF, Dallas Mavericks ($5.8k)

Dirk isn’t the explosive scorer he used to be, but that’s actually more about him being limited and slowly phased out as the Mavs’ main man. He still has a solid role and is more than capable of taking over a game, however. Tonight offers up a solid matchup and he actually did fairly well against the Suns in his last meeting. There’s always the chance he gets rested, but if he plays you can safely expect 25-30 fantasy points.

Brandan Wright, PF, Phoenix Suns ($5.5k)

Wright is a fun guy to use considering he’s actually playing center and tonight is a potential “revenge” game against his former team, the Mavs. Wright has been great as the starting center with Alex Len hurt, so he could easily crush his value tonight.

Marcin Gortat, C, Washington Wizards ($6k)

Gortat gets the Philadephia 76ers tonight and destroyed them last time (50 fantasy points). His minutes and production can be shaky at times, but the matchup and price are both too good to completely fade.

Zaza Pachulia, C, Milwaukee Bucks ($5.7k)

Pachulia has slowed down a bit over his last three games, but he’s a great price and is normally fairly stable. You can’t bank on a 30+ point explosion out of him on a regular basis, but he’s certainly capable of that and is usually good for 22-25 fantasy points. He should get that or better tonight.

Bismack Biyombo, C, Charlotte Hornets ($4.6k)

Biyombo is going to hold killer value as long as Al Jefferson (knee) is out. Bismack lacks a great offensive game but he’s still a source for points down low, while he can clean the glass and block shots at a high level. He busted out for 40+ fantasy points last night and is one of the better cheaper plays for the week.
