Hired this past August, Mo McHone begins his first year with the Detroit Pistons
as an assistant on Head Coach Alvin Gentry´s staff. McHone, a 30-year coaching
veteran, joins the Pistons this season after a stellar head coaching career in
the Continental Basketball Association..McHone has seven seasons of NBA
coaching experience, beginning as an assistant under Stan Albeck with the
Cleveland Cavaliers in 1979-80. Albeck and McHone then moved to San Antonio,
where they guided the Spurs to three-straight Midwest Division titles from
1980-83. McHone served as head coach for the Spurs for the first 31 games of the
1983-84 season. He then worked in 1985-86 for the Cavaliers as an assistant.

Last season, he directed the Sioux Falls SkyForce of the CBA to a 32-24
regular-season record, which included a 10-game winning streak to end the season.
